DARRELL ROBES KIPP HAS DIED

But only to this world.  In Catholic terms -- he was a faithful Catholic -- he is in Heaven.  In Blackfeet terms he is hunting in the Sand Hills.  To those who knew him well, he will never leave us.

I won't write more now.  There will be a story in the GF Tribune tomorrow -- it's online as of hours ago.

Only a couple of days ago did I get the news that death was immanent.  I didn't see him before he died, but I didn't need to.  I've known him since 1961 and have inches of correspondence with him.  There wasn't a lot more to say.
